Ceramic coating is primarily about easier maintenance and long-term environmental protection.
Bugs, road film, winter salt, pollen and dirt still reach your Honda.
Ceramic coating creates a durable protective layer over the clear coat that generally makes routine contamination easier to remove during proper washing.
It also improves gloss, provides chemical resistance and creates strong hydrophobic behavior.
Normal contamination generally releases more easily from properly maintained coated surfaces.
Proper polishing and coating can create a cleaner, more refined finished appearance.
Contamination interacts with the coating before the clear coat underneath.
Ceramic coating replaces the repeated traditional wax cycle.
Ceramic coating also does not stop rock chips, dents or every possible water spot. It is a surface protection product, not physical armor.

This is the strongest current Honda example on the page and gives Passport owners a real finished vehicle to evaluate.

The video title confirms the coating term, but does not identify the installation as Full Exterior, so I am not presenting it as one.
That distinction matters. Paint-only and Full Exterior are different packages, and I would rather show exactly what is known than inflate the job after the fact.

This new 2025 Honda Pilot received a 5-year ceramic coating specifically on the paint.
It is a useful real-world example of why Full Exterior should not automatically be assumed on every coated vehicle.

A Honda dealership can offer optional paint protection, ceramic coating or appearance products during the purchase process.
That does not mean every Honda receives one universal factory-installed ceramic coating.
