What ceramic coating actually does well.
The practical benefit is making a vehicle you already care about easier to own and maintain.
A coated Cadillac will still get dirty.
Bugs, road film, salt, pollen and environmental contamination still reach the exterior.
Ceramic coating adds a durable protective layer over the clear coat that generally makes that contamination easier to remove while adding gloss, chemical resistance and hydrophobic behavior.
Normal dirt and road contamination generally release more easily during proper washing.
Proper polishing followed by coating can noticeably refine the finished appearance.
The coating gives contamination another protective surface to interact with before the clear coat.
Ceramic coating replaces the repeated traditional wax cycle with a more durable protection system.
It also does not stop rock chips, prevent dents or make the vehicle immune to water spots. The value is surface protection and easier maintenance, not physical impact protection.

This is the strongest Cadillac proof piece on the page because it combines new-car preparation, additional correction and the complete Full Exterior package.

This black 2025 Cadillac LYRIQ received additional paint correction before an 8-year ceramic coating was installed across the Full Exterior.
Full Exterior includes the painted surfaces, all exterior glass, wheel faces or rims, exterior plastics and trim.
It is also a useful example of why a new vehicle can still benefit from additional correction beyond the standard preparation polish.

This new 2026 Cadillac Escalade received a 5-year Full Exterior ceramic coating.
On a vehicle this large, Full Exterior protection addresses much more than painted body panels by including glass, wheel faces, plastics and trim as well.
A 2014 CTS-V Wagon still tells us something useful.
It is experience proof, not a description of my current new-vehicle service focus.
This Black Diamond Tricoat CTS-V Wagon received paint correction, a 5-year Full Exterior ceramic coating and mobile installation.
Because it is a 2014 vehicle, I am keeping it clearly separated from the current service offer for newer vehicles.

Correction is additional defect removal for swirl marks, scratches, haze, etching or other imperfections worth improving beyond the prep polish.
