Semi self-healing Zipang is still not paint protection film.
Zipang's ability to reduce very fine marring should not be translated into protection from physical impacts.
The coating film is measured in microns, while paint protection film is a substantially thicker physical barrier designed to absorb impacts.
Road debris, keys, shopping carts, deep scratches and stone chips can still damage coated paint.
If the primary goal is physical protection, compare ceramic coating with paint protection film before paying more primarily for a self-healing coating claim.
Kamikaze has built an entire maintenance system around contamination for a reason.
A coating can have excellent hydrophobic behavior and still accumulate mineral deposits when hard water repeatedly dries on the surface.
