No Setting Your Hood on Fire
Unfortunately, we have to mention this as it was a gimmick used by the manufacturers for years. They would set a hood on fire and then just wipe away the soot because their amazing ceramic coating. As mentioned; this is a gimmick. They; nor us, would ever cover damage resulting from this.
No Abrasive Wash Methods
While you must still wash the vehicle to maintain it’s look, Ceramic Coating is NOT bullet proof. Repeated use of brush based car washes (even “soft touch”) will result in a reduction of luster in the coating. These wash methods add scratches and swirl marks to any Ceramic Coat, Clear Coat or PPF. Best practice is automatic touch free washes or hand washes.
Annual Inspections
This is to ensure the coating is performing as it should. We specifically set this appointment in spring as the lower portion of the doors / rocker panels may seem “flat” versus super hydrophobic (beading water) after a Wisconsin winter. This is normal as winter salt creates a layer above the ceramic coating, preventing it from appearing to be functioning right. We have special products to fully remove the salt from winter and get you back to 100%! This appointment also includes a Ceramic Topper. Yes, there is a cost to this appointment – $150 for any size personal vehicle (In-shop). We do not hide this and you will find this is the industry standard.

What is Covered?
We keep this as plain text as possible. The craftsmanship of the coating will be like day one; for the lifetime of your selected coating. If you feel “let down” in any way – reach out. Our goal is keeping you happy above all else.
This also covers you after an accident. Coatings by the Bay will recoat up to 3 panels at absolutely no cost to you or your insurance company. Simply reach out to us after the body shop has done their work and we will get you scheduled for your free reinstall. (Free Service Applies to In-Shop Recoating)
What is NOT Covered?
Scratches, Rock Chips and Dents. Ceramic Coating is NOT designed to stop any of these ailments. Any shop telling you different is selling you on a gimmick. Hydrophics is also technically not covered; but this is why we include a ceramic topper annually during your inspection. Again, this knods back to doing everything in our power to keep you happy with your coating.
